acculturation

Acculturation explains the process of cultural change and psychological change that results following meeting between cultures. The effects of acculturation can be seen at multiple levels in both interacting cultures. At the group level, acculturation often results in changes to culture, customs, and social institutions. Noticeable group level effects of acculturation often include changes in food, clothing, and language. At the individual level, differences in the way individuals acculturate have been shown to be associated not just with changes in daily behavior, but with numerous measures of psychological and physical well-being. As enculturation is used to describe the process of first-culture learning, acculturation can be thought of as second-culture learning.

Der Begriff Akkulturation bezeichnet das Hineinwachsen einer Person in ihre kulturelle Umwelt durch Erziehung. In der Regel bezieht sich der Begriff auf Heranwachsende in der Phase der Adoleszenz. Es kann aber auch der Assimilationsprozess Erwachsener gemeint sein, die sich als Immigranten mit einer ihnen fremden Kultur vertraut machen, ebenso die Anpassung von gesellschaftlichen Kulturen an Nachbarkulturen (vgl. Inkulturation). Dagegen bezeichnet Enkulturation die unbewusste ungesteuerte Sozialisation, besonders vor der Phase der Adoleszenz bei Heranwachsenden, z. B. bei Neugeborenen, Kleinkindern und Kindern.

En sociologie, l'acculturation désigne la transformation de cultures différentes qui sont en contact permanent. Les processus en jeu dans ces rencontres sont principalement : le décalage culturel, la résistance et l'intégration. Ce concept fait l'objet de recherches en anthropologie, en sociologie, et en psychologie.

Akulturacja – termin stosowany w naukach społecznych (m.in. antropologia, etnologia, pedagogika, psychologia, socjologia) oraz naukach o zarządzaniu (m.in. zarządzanie międzykulturowe, kultura organizacji) na określenie zjawisk zachodzących na styku kultur pomiędzy ludźmi (jednostkami i grupami).

Akulturace je psychosociální proces, který probíhá v situacích, kdy se dostávají do dlouhodobého kontaktu príslušníci dvou nebo více kulturních spolecenství. Jde o prípady soužití etnických menšin s majoritní populací v jedné zemi, adaptaci imigrantu po príchodu do hostitelské zeme, rízení nadnárodních firem prostrednictvím managementu složeného z pracovníku s odlišným kulturním zázemím aj. Akulturace hraje také závažnou roli ve vzdelávání detí a dospelých z rodin etnicky odlišných imigrantu (napríklad detí Ukrajincu, Vietnamcu a jiných cizincu v ceských školách).
