Канеманом экспериментов прекрасно иллюстрирует этот эффект. Испытуемые в двух группах должны были оценить долю африканских стран в ООН. В первой группе перед этим задавался вопрос: «Доля африканских стран в ООН больше или меньше 65%?», и они, таким образом, решали «задачу сравнения с навязанным числом» (в этом случае – 65%). Во второй группе задавался аналогичный вопрос, но в качестве «якоря» стояло другое число – 10%. В результате абсолютные оценки в первой группе были значительно выше, чем во второй.
