Aniline is a toxic organic compound with the formula C₆H₅NH₂. Consisting of a phenyl group attached to an amino group, aniline is the prototypical aromatic amine. Its main use is in the manufacture of precursors to polyurethane and other industrial chemicals. Like most volatile amines, it possesses the odor of rotten fish. It ignites readily, burning with a smoky flame characteristic of aromatic compounds.

Anilin [] (nach spanisch oder auch arabisch: an-nil = blau = Indigo-Farbe) ist eine hellbraune Flüssigkeit mit aminartigem Geruch, die an der Luft leicht bräunlich wird. Es ist ein Benzolring mit einer Aminogruppe (–NH₂) und damit ein aromatisches Amin. Mit Säuren versetzt bildet es Anilinsalze. Die basische Wirkung von Anilin wird durch den mesomeren Effekt abgeschwächt, da dieser die Elektronendichte der Aminogruppe verringert.

Aniline of aminobenzeen is een aromatisch primair amine, die opgebouwd is uit een benzeenring en een aminogroep. De stof komt voor als een kleurloze corrosieve vloeistof. Het is een belangrijke grondstof voor synthetische kleurstoffen. Aniline is ingedeeld in IARC-klasse 3, hetgeen betekent dat de stof niet onder te brengen is voor wat betreft de carcinogeniciteit voor de mens.

È un'ammina primaria la cui struttura è quella di un benzene in cui un atomo di idrogeno è stato sostituito da un gruppo NH₂. A temperatura ambiente si presenta come un liquido incolore quando è molto pura. Data la facilità con cui si ossida all'aria, l'anilina tende col tempo a scurirsi fino ad annerire.
