Ankle
The ankle, or the talocrural region, is the region where the foot and the leg meet. The ankle includes three joints: the ankle joint proper or talocrural joint, the subtalar joint, and the Inferior tibiofibular joint. The movements produced at this joint are dorsiflexion and plantarflexion of the foot. In common usage, the term ankle refers exclusively to the ankle region. In medical terminology, "ankle" (without qualifiers) can refer broadly to the region or specifically to the talocrural joint.

Knöchel
Der Knöchel (lateinisch-anatomisch Malleolus, ‚Hämmerchen‘, Diminutiv von lateinisch malleus, ‚Hammer‘) ist ein Knochenhöcker am unteren Ende des Unterschenkels. Er bildet den oberen Teil des Sprunggelenks, dem Verbindungsgelenk zwischen Fuß und Bein, und gehört medizinisch-anatomisch betrachtet zum Bein und nicht zum Fuß.

Enkel
In de menselijke anatomie is de enkel het gebied dat de voet en het onderbeen verbindt. Met de enkel wordt dit gebied bedoeld zoals het zich uitwendig vertoont. De enkel is herkenbaar aan twee zichtbare knobbels. De knobbel aan de buitenzijde van het been (of malleolus lateralis) is het onderste uiteinde van het kuitbeen, de knobbel aan de binnenzijde van het been (of malleolus medialis) is het onderste uiteinde van het scheenbeen.

Staw skokowy górny
Staw skokowy górny, inaczej staw skokowo-goleniowy (łac. articulatio talocruralis), pot. kostka – staw zawiasowy, złożony. Odpowiedzialny za zginanie grzbietowe stopy (np. podczas stawania na pięcie) oraz zginanie podeszwowe stopy (np. podczas stawania na palcach). Złożony jest z panewki, którą tworzą dalsze końce kości piszczelowej oraz strzałkowej, oraz z główki, którą stanowi bloczek kości skokowej. Ponadto w jego skład wchodzi torebka stawowa, którą wzmacniają więzadła przyśrodkowe (inaczej trójgraniaste), skokowo-strzałkowe przednie, skokowo-strzałkowe tylne, piętowo-strzałkowe. Torebka stawowa przytrzymuje kości, wchodzące w skład stawu oraz zapobiega dostaniu się sąsiednich tkanek między kości stawu.
