Av (, Standard Av Tiberian Aramaic אבא Abba; from Akkadian abu; "father") is the eleventh month of the civil year and the fifth month of the ecclesiastical year on the Hebrew calendar. The name is Babylonian in origin and appeared in the Talmud around the 3rd century. This is the only month which is not named in the Bible. It is a summer month of 30 days. Av usually occurs in July–August on the Gregorian calendar.

Aw (hebr. אָב, von akkadisch abu) ist der elfte Monat des bürgerlichen jüdischen Jahres und der fünfte des religiösen jüdischen Kalenders. Er hat 30 Tage und fällt im gregorianischen Kalender meist in die Zeit von Juli und August.

Av (אָב; del acadio abu "cañas, juncos", que se recolectaban para estas fechas; llamado también Menajem Av; del hebreo menajem "el que consuela", por las desgracias y calamidades acaecidas a los judíos en este mes a lo largo de la historia), es el undécimo mes del calendario hebreo moderno, que comienza su cómputo a partir del mes de Tishrei con la Creación del mundo, y el quinto mes según el ordenamiento de los meses en la Biblia, que comienza por Nisán, en conmemoración de la salida de los hebreos de la esclavitud en Egipto.

Correspondant au mois d'août pour les arabes orientaux, c’est un mois estival de trente jours dont la néoménie a lieu le lundi, mercredi, vendredi ou samedi. Étant le mois au cours duquel les deux Temples de Jérusalem ont été détruits, il a acquis une atmosphère particulièrement sombre dans la tradition rabbinique qui le surnomme par euphémisme Menahem Av (hébreu : מנחם אב « Le Père console »).
