Bantu may refer to:

• Bantu languages, constitute the largest sub-branch of the Niger–Congo languages
• Bantu peoples, over 400 peoples of Africa speaking a Bantu language
• Black Association for Nationalism Through Unity, a youth activism group in the 1960s

Bantu peoples is used as a general label for the 300–600 ethnic groups in Africa who speak Bantu languages. They inhabit a geographical area stretching east and southward from Central Africa across the African Great Lakes region down to Southern Africa. Bantu is a major branch of the Niger-Congo language family spoken by most populations in Africa. There are about 650 Bantu languages by the criterion of mutual intelligibility, though the distinction between language and dialect is often unclear, and Ethnologue counts 535 languages.

The Black Association for Nationalism Through Unity, or BANTU, was a youth activism group focused on black power and nationalism in Omaha, Nebraska in the 1960s.

Bantu ist der Sammelbegriff für über 400 verschiedene Ethnien Süd- und Mittelafrikas, die Bantusprachen sprechen. Die Bantusprachen bilden eine Untergruppe der Niger-Kongo-Sprachen. Es gibt heute (2007) über 200 Millionen Bantu. Im Sprachgebrauch der „Weißen“ Südafrikas wird Bantu häufig als Bezeichnung für alle Subsahara-Afrikaner verwendet.

De Bantoevolkeren zijn een groep volkeren in Centraal- en zuidelijk Afrika, die Bantoetalen spreken. Deze taalfamilie maakt op haar beurt weer deel uit van de Niger-Congotaalgroep.

On nomme Bantous (« humains » en kongo) les locuteurs d'un ensemble de langues dites bantoues qui regroupe environ quatre cent cinquante langues sur le continent africain. Ils sont répartis du Cameroun aux Comores et du Soudan à l’Afrique du Sud.
