Banzaï is a 1983 French comedy film directed by Claude Zidi and starring Coluche.

Banzai!, officially stylized BANZAI!, is a discontinued shonen manga anthology that was published in Germany by Carlsen Verlag, from November 2001 to December 2005. It debuted in November 2001 as a German language adaptation of the popular Japanese manga anthology Weekly Shonen Jump, published by Shueisha. In addition to various series from Weekly Shonen Jump, the magazine serialized some original German manga-influenced comics, including Crewman 3. Issues also included educational articles to teach readers Japanese and columns with news updates on anime and manga series. Series published in the magazine were also published in tankobon volumes under the Banzai! präsentiert and the highly popular series under the Best of Banzai! label. The name Banzai! came from the transliteration of 10,000 years, a traditional Japanese exclamation.

Die Banzai (eigene Schreibweise: BANZAI!) war ein deutschsprachiges Manga-Magazin des Carlsen Verlags, das sich hauptsächlich an jugendliche männliche Leser richtete. Es enthielt Lizenzserien des Verlags Shueisha sowie Eigenproduktionen und war der deutsche Ableger des Weekly Shonen Jump. Banzai (jap. ) bedeutet wörtlich „Zehntausend Jahre“ und wird als Ausruf zu Ehren einer Person oder zur Verkündung eines Sieges verwendet. Verbreitete Übersetzungen sind „Hurra!“ und „Ein Hoch auf …!“

La frase diez mil años o wànsuì era usada para bendecir a los emperadores de China, Japón, Corea y Vietnam desde tiempos antiguos. La frase tiene su origen en la antigua China donde era costumbre dar los respetos al Emperador repitiendo la frases varias veces. Por ejemplo Wú huáng wànsuì, wànsuì, wànwànsuì (吾皇萬歲，萬歲，萬萬歲, literalmente Que mi Emperador [viva y gobierne por] diez mil años, diez mil años, diez mil [veces] diez mil años.). Usualmente se traduce como ¡Larga Vida!, ya que la connotación de diez mil en el sistema de numeración de la antigua china era de infinito, inconmensurable.

Banzai! is de naam van een Duits tijdschrift waarin manga nieuwkomers uit Japan en ook uit Duitsland zelf voorgesteld worden. In dit door Carlsen Verlag uitgegeven tijdschrift worden echter alleen shonen (jongens) manga's afgedrukt. Voor shojo (meisjes) is er het zusterblad Daisuki, van dezelfde uitgever.
