The beak, bill, or rostrum is an external anatomical structure of birds which is used for eating and for grooming, manipulating objects, killing prey, fighting, probing for food, courtship and feeding young. The terms beak and rostrum are also used to refer to a similar mouthpart in some Ornithischian dinosaurs, monotremes, cephalopods (see Cephalopod beak), cetaceans, billfishes, pufferfishes, turtles, Anuran tadpoles and sirens.

Beak (stylized as BEAK>) is a UK based band, consisting of Geoff Barrow (of Portishead) with Billy Fuller (Robert Plant) and Matt Williams (MXLX, Fairhorns).

Der Schnabel (lat. Rostrum) ist in der Zoologie das nach vorne spitz auslaufende Mundwerkzeug bei Vögeln, Schnabeltieren, Schnabelwalen und auch Kopffüßern. Er dient als Ersatz für entwicklungsgeschichtlich nicht mehr vorhandene Zähne.

Schnabel steht für:

• Schnabel, die zoologische Bezeichnung des Mundwerkzeugs bestimmter Tiere
• Schnabel (Botanik), den oberen Teil mancher Früchte
• den spitz zulaufenden Bug bei antiken Schiffen
• die nach außen (als Röhre) verlängerte Ausbuchtung zum Ausgießen einer Kanne, siehe Tülle

• einen umgangssprachlich Ausdruck für den Mund

K:Carnivore (rapace)]] Un bec, au sens strict, est une structure anatomique externe qui permet la prise alimentaire et donc la nutrition chez les oiseaux. Mais il permet aussi la toilette de l'animal, la nutrition des jeunes, la chasse d'une proie, la manipulation d'objets, et peut aussi être un élément important pour la parade nuptiale.

Le bec est le seul dispositif qu'un oiseau a pour consommer sa nourriture, mais ce mot peut avoir d'autres significations, et fait souvent partie d'un nom composé. Cette page en liste quelques-unes.

Dziób (rostrum) – rogowy twór u ptaków oraz niektórych innych zwierząt. Tworzą go przekształcone kości szczęki , kości międzyszczękowej oraz kości żuchwy.
