A burn is a type of injury to  skin , or other tissues, caused by heat, electricity, chemicals, friction, or radiation. Burns that affect only the superficial skin layers are known as superficial or first-degree burns. When the injury extends into some of the underlying layers, it is described as a partial-thickness or second-degree burn. In a full-thickness or third-degree burn, the injury extends to all layers of the skin. A fourth-degree burn additionally involves injury to deeper tissues, such as muscle, tendons, or bone.

Burn! (Italian: Queimada) is a 1969 Italian-French war drama film directed by Gillo Pontecorvo and starring Marlon Brando, Evaristo Márquez and Renato Salvatori. The music was composed by Ennio Morricone. The fictional story focuses on the creation of a banana republic in the Caribbean, and the events that follow it. Brando plays a British secret government agent, named after the American filibuster William Walker, who manipulates a slave revolt to serve the interests of the sugar trade.

On the radio, Burn used to be a radio announcer for X-Fresh before moving to Era FM.

Die Queimada ist ein Brauch um ein alkoholisches Heißgetränk der galicischen Küche und gehört der galicischen Folklore an. Dem Ende der 1950er Jahre entstandene Partyritual werden unter anderem keltische Wurzeln, heilende Kräfte und der Schutz vor bösen Geistern zugeschrieben.

Eine Verbrennung (Combustio, Brandverletzung, Verbrennungstrauma) ist in der Medizin eine Schädigung von Gewebe durch übermäßige Hitzeeinwirkung. Diese kann durch heiße Flüssigkeiten (Verbrühung), Dämpfe oder Gase, Flammeneinwirkung und Explosionen, starke Sonneneinstrahlung (Sonnenbrand), elektrischen Strom oder Reibung entstehen. Bei der Verbrennung werden primär Haut und Schleimhaut geschädigt. Davon abzugrenzen ist die Kälteverbrennung, eine Sonderform der Erfrierung, die lokal mit der Verbrennung vergleichbare Schäden verursacht.
