Ramadan
n. Ramadhani
The month beginning when Ramadan ends is considered the 1st month, and called mfunguo mosi, ie. "the first non-fasting month". The next are called (mfunguo) wa pili, (wa) tatu, ect. until the ninth month. The remaining three have Arabic names Rajabu, Shaabani (Shabani or mlisho), and Ramadhani (mwezi wa mfungo). The other Arabic names are sometimes used in letters and in giving dates.
