Cheat! was a TV show on G4 (formerly G4techTV) that provided cheat codes, strategies, and other hidden features for video games. The show was hosted by Kristin Adams (née Holt), who replaced original host Cory Rouse in January 2005. Cheat! last aired February 19, 2009 on G4.

Cheating is the getting of a reward for ability or finding an easy way out of an unpleasant situation by dishonest means. It is generally used for the breaking of rules to gain unfair advantage in a competitive situation. This broad definition will necessarily include acts of bribery, cronyism, sleaze, nepotism and any situation where individuals are given preference using inappropriate criteria. The rules infringed may be explicit, or they may be from an unwritten code of conduct based on morality, ethics or custom, making the identification of cheating conduct a potentially subjective process. Cheating can refer specifically to marital infidelity. Someone who is known for cheating is referred to as a cheat in British English, and a cheater in American English. A person described as a "cheat" doesn't necessarily cheat all the time, but rather, relies on unfair tactics to the point of acquiring a reputation for it.

Als Cheat (englisch für Betrug, Schwindel) wird die Möglichkeit bezeichnet, in einem Computerspiel selbst oder durch externe Programme das Spiel in einer nicht dem gewöhnlichen Spielverlauf entsprechenden Weise zu beeinflussen. Es handelt sich dabei beispielsweise um Tricks, mit denen schwere Abschnitte eines Spielabschnitts („Levels“) übersprungen werden können oder der Spieler zusätzliche Lebensenergie, mehr Munition oder weitere Einheiten erhält. In der Regel sind diese Funktionen zu Testzwecken für die Entwicklungsphase des Spiels einprogrammiert.

Los cheats (en español trampas, o chetos en la jerga gamer) son métodos que utilizan los jugadores para conseguir beneficios en un videojuego. Éstos métodos crean una ventaja desleal mediante el propio juego o también mediante software de terceros e incluso a través de hardware. Su uso está muy mal visto por los demás jugadores, especialmente en los partidas en línea, donde frecuentemente se generan conflictos ante las sospechas de unos jugadores hacia otros.

Cheating (ook: cheaten) is het Engelse woord voor valsspelen in een computerspel. Hierdoor heeft de speler met de modificatie een voordeel ten opzichte van spelers zonder deze modificatie.

Valsspelen is het heimelijk overtreden van de regels van een sport of spel om zo de uitslag te manipuleren. De eindstand zal hierdoor niet de werkelijke inspanningen van de deelnemers reflecteren. Valsspelen kan gezien worden als een lichte of onschuldige vorm van fraude, hoewel soms, wanneer grote financiële belangen of een reputatie op het spel staan, dit zeer serieus wordt genomen. In sommige gevallen kan valsspelen tot strafrechtelijke vervolging van de dader leiden. Iemand die valsspeelt wordt een valsspeler genoemd. Ook het creatief omgaan met spelregels wordt wel eens als valsspelen gezien.

Le Cheat (la triche en français) désigne l'ensemble des moyens permettant, dans un jeu vidéo, de modifier les règles du jeu. Une personne utilisant ces moyens est appelée cheater. Les cheats sont généralement mis en place par les développeurs pour faciliter les tests pendant la conception d'un jeu vidéo. Dans les jeux online les cheats sont mis en place par les joueurs .

La tricherie est le fait de ne pas respecter des règles pour profiter d'avantages. On peut tricher au jeu, dans le sport, à un examen (antisèches, copier sur le voisin…). Quelqu'un qui triche est appelé un tricheur. Lorsqu'on découvre que quelqu'un a triché, il est généralement sanctionné.
