Climax (figure of speech)
In rhetoric, a climax (, klîmax,  "staircase" or "ladder") is a figure of speech in which wordsphrases, or clauses are arranged in order of increasing importance. In its use with clauses, it is also sometimes known as auxesis ( "growth").
