COMMON is the largest association of users of IBM midrange computers and IBM-compatible technology in the world. The users' group is a private, not-for-profit organization that provides education, tools, resources and networking opportunities for IBM i users.

Common (conocido primeramente como Common Sense y nacido como Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr. el 13 de marzo de 1972 en Chicago, Illinois) es un rapero afroamericano también actor célebre en el mundo del rap por sus letras, enfocadas más al amor y la espiritualidad que al dinero, la fama o las mujeres. Mucha gente puede describirlo como un artista de hip-hop "verdadero", autor de auténticas canciones que de verdad envían un mensaje. Su álbum debut en un sello mayor Like Water for Chocolate fue aclamado por los críticos y tuvo éxito comercial, mientras que su último álbum Be, en el que Kanye West produce nueve temas, vendió 800.000 copias y fue candidato a un Grammy como "Mejor Álbum de Rap".

Zijn eerste grote album voor een platenmaatschappij, Like Water for Chocolate, kreeg wereldwijd succes. Het album Be kwam uit in 2005 en werd in 2006 genomineerd voor de Grammy Award voor beste rap-album. Zijn album Thisisme kwam uit op 27 november 2007. Kortgeleden is Common een filmcarrière gestart, beginnend met een rol in de actiethriller Smokin' Aces, gevolgd door een rol in American Gangster.

Aux débuts des années 1990, son premier nom de scène est « Common Sense », qu'il doit raccourcir en raison de son usage antérieur par une formation rock. Jusqu'en 2000 et à l'image de Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest ou des Roots, sa musique se caractérisait par une large utilisation d'échantillons de morceaux jazz et soul, de même qu'une écriture pacifiste et érudite.
