"Crystalline" is a song by Icelandic artist Björk, released as the lead single from her eighth album Biophilia. The song was released as a single on June 28, 2011 accompanied by an iPad app developed exclusively for the song. It was afterward released as part of The Crystalline Series alongside the second single from the album, "Cosmogony".

Crystallinity refers to the degree of structural order in a solid. In a crystal, the atoms or molecules are arranged in a regular, periodic manner. The degree of crystallinity has a big influence on hardness, density, transparency and diffusion. In a gas, the relative positions of the atoms or molecules are completely random. Amorphous materials, such as liquids and glasses, represent an intermediate case, having order over short distances (a few atomic or molecular spacings) but not over longer distances.

Ein Kristall ist ein Festkörper, dessen Bausteine – z. B. Atome, Ionen oder Moleküle – nicht zufällig, sondern regelmäßig in einer Kristallstruktur angeordnet sind. Bekannte kristalline Materialien sind Kochsalz, Zucker, Minerale und Schnee – aber auch die Metalle.

Kristall ist der Name eines wissenschaftlichen Moduls, das an der sowjetischen Raumstation Mir angedockt wurde. (Die weiterhin geläufige Bezeichnung Kwant-3 wird offiziell nicht verwendet.)

Een kristal is een hoeveelheid periodiek gerangschikte atomen of moleculen, en dit zowel in 2 als in 3 dimensies. Zuivere stoffen zijn meestal in staat tot het vormen van kristallen. Materialen die uit kristallen bestaan, worden kristallijn genoemd. Materialen die daarentegen bestaan uit een hoeveelheid moleculen die niet ordelijk gerangschikt zijn, worden amorf genoemd. De bekendste amorfe stof is glas, en zelfs kristalglas is, ondanks de naam, geen kristal. Quasikristallen vormen een bijzonder aspect van kristallijne vaste stoffen, omdat zij een schijnbaar periodieke structuur bezitten.

Un cristal est un solide dont les constituants (atomes, molécules ou d'ions) sont assemblés de manière régulière, par opposition au solide amorphe. Par « régulier » on veut généralement dire qu'un même motif est répété à l'identique un grand nombre de fois selon un réseau régulier, la plus petite partie du réseau permettant de recomposer l'empilement étant appelée une maille   .
