A cure is the end of a medical condition; the substance or procedure that ends the medical condition, such as a medication, a surgical operation, a change in lifestyle, or even a philosophical mindset that helps end a person's sufferings. It may also refer to the state of being healed, or cured.

A curate is a person who is invested with the care or cure (cura) of souls of a parish. In this sense "curate" correctly means a parish priest; but in English-speaking countries the term curate is commonly used to describe clergy who are assistants to the parish priest. The duties or office of a curate are called a curacy.

A cure is a completely effective treatment for a disease.

Kurat (von lateinisch cura, „Fürsorge“ oder auch „Pflege“) ist ein alter kirchenrechtlicher Titel und bezeichnet in der katholischen und in der anglikanischen Kirche einen Hilfspriester mit eigenem Seelsorgebezirk/ -bereich (Kuratie, Pfarrvikarie). Kuraten sind, wenn das Recht nichts anderes bestimmt, den Pfarrern gleichgestellt (can. 516 § 1 CIC).

Le curé est un prêtre catholique qui est chargé de la cure c'est-à-dire qu'il a « charge d'âmes » d'une paroisse (en latin, cura animarum). Il est nommé par un évêque, dont il est le représentant et le délégué dans la paroisse. Il doit confesser et absoudre les péchés des personnes qui le souhaitent.
