Davit
Ein Davit (dt. [], engl. []) ist ein aus Holz oder Eisen gefertigter schwenkbarer Kran nahe der Bordwand größerer Schiffe, mit dem Boote geheißt (ausgesetzt bzw. eingesetzt) werden können. Der Davit kann auch zum Aussetzen und Fieren schwerer Anker genutzt werden. Hauptsächlich wird er aber für Rettungsboote genutzt.

Davit
Een davit is een takel waar bijvoorbeeld een reddingsboot, reddingssloep of landingsvaartuig (bijvoorbeeld bij een amfibisch transportschip) aan hangt. Meestal zijn er twee davits per boot.
