Destruction (engl. für ‚Zerstörung‘) ist eine der ältesten bis heute bestehenden deutschen Thrash-Metal-Bands. Sie wurde 1982 im südbadischen Weil am Rhein gegründet und ist neben Kreator und Sodom eine der erfolgreichsten deutschen Bands dieser Stilrichtung.

Destruction es una banda de thrash metal alemán fundada en 1982 por el bajista y vocalista Marcel Schmier, el guitarrista Mike Sifringer y el batería Tommy Sandmann en Weil am Rhein, en el estado de Baden-Württemberg. Aunque originalmente el grupo era conocido como Knight of Demon, unas semanas más tarde cambió su nombre a Destruction. En 1989, Sifringer quedó como único miembro original, tras las salidas de Sandmann y Schmier. Los diez siguientes años, Destruction sufrió varios cambios en su formación y publicó algunos lanzamientos que en la actualidad no están considerados dentro de la discografía oficial. En 1999, Schmier regresó a Destruction junto al batería Sven Vormann, este último permaneció en la banda tres años, siendo reemplazado por Marc Reign y más tarde por Wawrzyniec Dramowicz.

Destruction is een Duitse thrashmetal-band. De band werd in 1982 opgericht in het Duitse Lörrach in Baden-Württemberg en bestaat in 2014 nog steeds. De band behoort, samen met Kreator en Sodom, tot de grote drie van de Duitse thrashbands. Vooral in de jaren 80 was de band erg succesvol binnen de metalscene. Rond de eeuwwisseling maakte de band een succesvolle comeback.
