effervesce

Effervescence is the escape of gas from an aqueous solution and the foaming or fizzing that results from a release of the gas. The word effervescence is derived from the Latin verb fervere (to boil), preceded by the adverb ex. It has the same linguistic root as the word fermentation.

Carboniseren van dranken is het toevoegen van koolzuur. Deze kooldioxidetoevoeging wordt ook wel prik genoemd. Dit maakt de drank aantrekkelijker, want het zorgt voor een frisse, zurige smaak en een dorstlessend effect. Het principe wordt onder andere toegepast in water, bier en frisdranken.

Les boissons gazeuses, appelées liqueurs douces au Québec, sont des boissons constituées majoritairement d'eau qui contiennent du dioxyde de carbone  provenant directement d’une source minérale, obtenu par fermentation ou ajouté artificiellement.
