Wasschilderen
Wasschilderen (of Encaustic painting, in het Nederlands ook encaustiek genoemd) is een schildertechniek, waarbij pigmenten vermengd worden met hete bijenwas, hars en nog een paar stoffen, in verschillende kleuren. De techniek is vermoedelijk rond 1000 v.Chr. ontstaan.

Энкаустика
Энка́устика (от — [искусство] выжигания) — техника живописи, в которой связующим веществом красок является воск. Живопись выполняется красками в расплавленном виде (отсюда и название). Разновидностью энкаустики является восковая темпера, отличающаяся яркостью и сочностью красок. В этой технике написаны многие раннехристианские иконы.
