executive department

The executive is the organ that exercises authority in and holds responsibility for the governance of a state. The executive executes and enforces law.

The United States federal executive departments are among the oldest primary units of the executive branch of the federal government of the United States—the Departments of State, War, and the Treasury all having been established within a few weeks of each other in 1789.

De uitvoerende macht is naast de wetgevende macht en de rechterlijke macht, de invulling van het idee van scheiding der machten binnen een staat; dit politieke systeem staat bekend als de Trias Politica van Charles Montesquieu. De uitvoerende macht houdt vooral in: vrede sluiten, oorlog voeren, zorg voor de openbare orde, en verdediging van het land.

Aux États-Unis, on appelle administration le pouvoir fédéral. C'est la désignation courante du pouvoir exécutif de la Maison-Blanche dans les médias.

Le pouvoir exécutif (aussi appelé simplement l'exécutif) est l'un des trois pouvoirs, avec le pouvoir législatif et le pouvoir judiciaire, constituant l'État dans un régime démocratique respectant la séparation des pouvoirs. Il est chargé de gérer la politique courante de l'État et de contrôler l'application de la loi élaborée par le pouvoir législatif.

Departamenty Stanów Zjednoczonych (ang. United States Federal Executive Departments; pol. Federalne Departamenty Wykonawcze Stanów Zjednoczonych), nazwa organów władzy wykonawczej w Stanach Zjednoczonych, odpowiadających ministerstwom w innych krajach. Obecnie istnieje piętnaście departamentów:
