feelings

Feeling is the nominalization of the verb to feel. The word was first used in the English language to describe the physical sensation of touch through either experience or perception. The word is also used to describe experiences other than the physical sensation of touch, such as "a feeling of warmth" and of sentience in general. In Latin, sentire meant to feel, hear or smell. In psychology, the word is usually reserved for the conscious subjective experience of emotion. Phenomenology and heterophenomenology are philosophical approaches that provide some basis for knowledge of feelings. Many schools of psychotherapy depend on the therapist achieving some kind of understanding of the client's feelings, for which methodologies exist. Some theories of interpersonal relationships also have a role for shared feelings or understanding of another person's feelings.

Feelings es el décimo álbum de David Byrne, lanzado el 17 de junio de 1997.

Feelings is een Engelstalig nummer uit 1974 van de Braziliaanse zanger Morris Albert (Mauricio Alberto Kaisermann), die daarmee wereldwijd een hit scoorde. Het is gebaseerd op het Franstalige Pour Toi van Dario Moreno. Velen dachten dat Albert Feelings geschreven had, tot tekstschrijver Loulou Gasté in 1981 een rechtszaak aanspande en zeven jaar later 78% van de royalty's opstreek. Sindsdien is Feelings wereldwijd gecoverd in vele talen en vormt het een dankbaar onderwerp voor softrock-parodieën en top 100-lijstjes van irritantste songs aller tijden. Er zijn mensen die Feelings met Barry Manilow associëren terwijl hij het nooit heeft opgenomen.

De tastzin (of aanrakingszin) is het vermogen van een organisme om aanraking of druk waar te nemen. Waarnemen met dit zintuig heet voelen.

Pour toi est une chanson française de Dario Moreno composée par  Loulou Gasté sur des paroles d'Albert Simonin et Marie-Hélène Bourquin, extraite de la bande originale du film Le Feu aux poudres. Une version instrumentale, plagiée par le compositeur brésilien Morris Albert, apparaît dans la telenovela Corrida do Ouro en 1974 puis une version chantée par le précédent sur des paroles anglaises sort en 1975 sous le nom de Feelings. Tandis qu'elle devient sous ce nouveau titre un standard la même année, Mike Brant la réimporte en France sous le titre Dis-lui avec des nouvelles paroles signées Michel Jourdan. Elle connaît, sous différentes langues, environ versions.
