FOCUS is a computer programming language and development environment. It is a language used to build database queries, and is regarded as a fourth-generation programming language (4GL). Produced by Information Builders Inc., it was originally developed for data handling and analysis on the IBM mainframe. As newer systems were developed and smaller computers became more powerful, the available platforms for FOCUS were extended to personal computers and in 1997, to the World Wide Web in the WebFOCUS product.

Bernard Edwards, Jr., better known as Focus..., is an Atlanta-based record producer who first rose to fame when signed to Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment. Der Focus (Eigenschreibweise: FOCUS) ist ein deutsches wöchentlich erscheinendes Nachrichtenmagazin. Es erscheint im Burda-Verlag München unter der Leitung von Hubert Burda als Verleger und Helmut Markwort sowie seit 2013 zusätzlich Uli Baur als Herausgeber. Burda und Markwort gründeten und konzipierten das Magazin als Konkurrenz- bzw. Alternativblatt zu dem deutschen Nachrichtenmagazin Der Spiegel.

Focus est un mot anglais emprunté au latin qui veut dire foyer ou point, c'est le lieu où plusieurs choses se concentrent. Il est la racine du mot focalisation en français qui peut être synonyme de concentration. Ce mot s'emploie également tel quel en anglais et on le retrouve notamment dans les domaines suivants :

• en informatique, focus (informatique) (interface graphique) ;
• dans la photographie, il est synonyme de mise au point ;
