Fun is the enjoyment of pleasure, particularly in leisure activities. Fun is an experience — short-term, often unexpected, informal, not cerebral and generally purposeless. It is an enjoyable distraction, diverting the mind and body from any serious task or contributing an extra dimension to it. Although particularly associated with recreation and play, fun may be encountered during work, social functions, and even seemingly mundane activities of daily living. It may often have little to no logical basis, and opinions on whether or not an activity is fun may differ. A distinction between enjoyment and fun is difficult but possible to articulate, fun being a more spontaneous, playful, or active event. There are psychological and physiological implications to the experience of fun.

Fun (stylized as fun.) is an American indie band based in New York City. It was formed by Nate Ruess, former lead singer of The Format, with Andrew Dost and Jack Antonoff, of Anathallo and Steel Train respectively. Fun has released two albums: Aim and Ignite in August 2009 and Some Nights in February 2012.

Después de la desintegración de 2008 de The Format, Ruess empezó a desarrollar su carrera en Nueva York. Formó entonces el grupo con Andrew Dost de Anathallo y Jack Antonoff de Steel Train. Fun. grabó su álbum debut Aim and Ignite en agosto de 2009 con el productor Steven McDonald y arreglista Roger Joseph Manning Jr., el ex teclista de Jellyfish.

Fun. is een indierock/popband uit de V.S. (New York City), gevormd door Nate Ruess in 2008. De band heeft twee albums uitgebracht: Aim and Ignite (debuutalbum, 2009) en Some Nights (2012).

Onder recreatie verstaat men alle vormen van vrijetijdsbesteding, alle activiteiten die kunnen worden gedaan naast de dagelijkse verplichtingen als werken, huishouden, financiën en zorg voor anderen. Ruess a formé le groupe avec Andrew Dost du groupe Anathallo et Jack Antonoff de Steel Train. Fun a enregistré son premier album, Aim and Ignite en août 2008 avec le producteur Steven McDonald et l'arrangeur Roger Joseph Manning, Jr., l'ancien pianiste de Jellyfish.

Le loisir est l'activité que l'on effectue durant le temps libre dont on peut disposer. Ce temps libre s'oppose au temps prescrit, c'est-à-dire contraint par les occupations habituelles (emploi, activités domestiques, éducation des enfants...) ou les servitudes qu’elles imposent (transports, par exemple).
