Sir Francis Galton, FRS (; 16 February 1822 – 17 January 1911) was an English Victorian statistician, progressive, polymath, sociologist, psychologist, anthropologist, eugenicist, tropical explorer, geographer, inventor, meteorologist, proto-geneticist and psychometrician. He was knighted in 1909.

Francis Galton (Sparbrook (Birmingham), 16 februari 1822 – Haslemere (Surrey), 17 januari 1911) was een Brits statisticus, antropoloog, ontdekkingsreiziger, psycholoog en grondlegger van de moderne eugenetica. Daarnaast bestudeerde hij de menselijke geest en het brein en was hij de grondlegger van de psychometrie.

Francis Galton (Sparkbrook, près de Birmingham, - Haslemere, Surrey, ) est un anthropologue, explorateur, géographe, inventeur, météorologue, proto-généticien, psychométricien et statisticien britannique. Considéré comme le fondateur de l'eugénisme, il est aussi celui, notamment, de la psychologie différentielle ou comparée. Il est également connu pour avoir mis en place de façon systématique la méthode d'identification des individus au moyen de leurs empreintes digitales.
