heliocentric

Heliocentrism, or heliocentricism, is the astronomical model in which the Earth and planets revolve around the Sun at the center of the Solar System. The word comes from the Greek ( helios "sun" and kentron "center"). Historically, heliocentrism was opposed to geocentrism, which placed the Earth at the center. The notion that the Earth revolves around the Sun had been proposed as early as the 3rd century BC by Aristarchus of Samos, but at least in the post-ancient world Aristarchus's heliocentrism attracted little attention—possibly because of the loss of scientific works of the Hellenistic Era.

Das heliozentrische Weltbild ( helios ‚Sonne‘ und kentron ‚Mittelpunkt‘), auch kopernikanisches Weltbild genannt, basiert auf der Annahme, dass sich die Planeten um die Sonne bewegen. Es steht im Gegensatz zum älteren geozentrischen (ptolemäischen) Weltbild, in dem die Erde als Zentrum des Universums betrachtet wird. Der Übergang zum heliozentrischen Weltbild wird häufig auch als kopernikanische Wende bezeichnet.

De heliocentrische theorie of heliocentrisme stelt dat de zon het middelpunt van het universum is, waar alles om heen draait, of op z'n minst het middelpunt van het zonnestelsel, waar de planeten omheen draaien.

L'héliocentrisme est une théorie physique qui s'oppose au géocentrisme en plaçant le Soleil (plutôt que la Terre) au centre de l'Univers. D’après les variantes plus modernes, le Soleil n'est plus le centre de l'Univers, mais un point relatif autour duquel s'organise notre propre système solaire. Même si le sens de cette affirmation a varié depuis les premières théories héliocentriques, ce modèle reste globalement accepté pour décrire le système solaire.

Heliocentryzm (gr. ἡλιος helios – słońce, κέντρον kentron – centrum) – teoria budowy Układu Słonecznego, według której w wersji historycznej Słońce znajduje się w środku Wszechświata, zaś w jego współczesnym wydaniu w centrum Układu Słonecznego jest Słońce, a wszystkie planety, łącznie z Ziemią, je obiegają. W 1616 r. Święta Kongregacja Indeksu zakazała książek o heliocentryzmie, nie potępiając go. Również nigdy nie został oficjalnie potępiony jako heretycki przez Kościół w orzeczeniu papieża i na soborze.
