home

A home is a dwelling-place used as a permanent or semi-permanent residence for an individual, family, household or several families in a tribe. It is often a house, apartment, or other building, or alternatively a mobile home, houseboat, yurt or any other portable shelter. Homes typically provide areas and facilities for sleeping, preparing food, eating and hygiene. Larger groups may live in a nursing home, children's home, convent or any similar institution. A homestead also includes agricultural land and facilities for domesticated animals. Where more secure dwellings are not available, people may live in the informal and sometimes illegal shacks found in slums and shanty towns. More generally, "home" may be considered to be a geographic area, such as a town, village, suburb, city, or country.

• HotSpot @Home, a now defunct home telecom service in the United States formerly provided by T-Mobile. (Outside the US similar services were known as T-Home.)
• @Home Network, a now defunct cable broadband provider.
• Suffix for volunteer distributed computing projects generally using BOINC like SETI@home, Folding@home, MilkyWay@home, Einstein@home, and others.

The HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) is a type of United States federal assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to States in order to provide decent and affordable housing, particularly housing for low- and very low-income Americans. It is the largest Federal block grant to States and local governments designed exclusively to create affordable housing for low-income families, providing approximately US$2 billion each year.

A home directory is a file system directory on a multi-user operating system containing files for a given user of the system. The specifics of the home directory (such as its name and location) is defined by the operating system involved; for example, Windows systems between 2000 and 2003 keep home directories in a folder called Documents and Settings.

The History of Middle-earth is a 12-volume series of books published between 1983 and 1996 that collect and analyse material relating to the fiction of J. R. R. Tolkien, compiled and edited by his son, Christopher Tolkien. The series shows the development over time of Tolkien's conception of Middle-earth as a fictional place with its own peoples, languages, and history, from his earliest notions of a "mythology for England" through to the development of the stories that make up The Silmarillion and The Lord of the Rings. It is not a "history of Middle-earth" in the sense of being a chronicle of events in Middle-earth written from an in-universe perspective. In 2000–01, the twelve volumes were republished in three limited edition omnibus volumes. Non-deluxe editions of the three volumes were published in 2002.

Das Benutzerverzeichnis ist das Stammverzeichnis der Verzeichnisse, in denen üblicherweise die persönlichen Daten und Einstellungen eines Computerbenutzers abgelegt werden. Die Verwendung von Benutzerverzeichnissen ermöglicht in Mehrbenutzersystemen zudem eine Trennung der Daten zwischen den unterschiedlichen Benutzern. Bei einem Systemupdate oder einer Neuinstallation des Betriebssystems ermöglichen Benutzerverzeichnisse auf einer separaten Partition zudem die problemlose Migration der Benutzerdateien.

HOME es un álbum de la organización de activismo político estadounidense, Hip Hop Caucus. Se anunció su aparición el 14 de noviembre de 2014, y salió al mercado vía iTunes unos días más tarde, el 2 de diciembre, El álbum incluye canciones de destacados artistas como Elle Varner, Ne-Yo y Crystal Waters. @Home (tot 1 februari 2007: Essent Kabelcom) was een aanbieder van televisie, breedbandinternet en telefoniediensten in Nederland, totdat het samen met Multikabel en Casema fuseerde tot Ziggo. Het hoofdkantoor van @Home was gevestigd in Groningen.

De homedirectory is de persoonlijke directory van een gebruiker op een computersysteem.

Thuis is de benaming voor de plek (het huis) waar iemand woont.
