Incubation: Battle Isle Phase Vier ist ein 1997 erschienenes rundenbasiertes Strategie-Computerspiel welches von Blue Byte entwickelt wurde. Das Spiel erschien außerhalb des deutschsprachigen Raumes auch unter dem Namen Incubation: Time is Running Out. Das Spiel ist aufgrund der Hintergrundgeschichte Teil der Battle-Isle-Reihe.

Inkubation (v. lat. incubare „liegen auf“, „ausbrüten“) hat verschiedene Bedeutungen:
in der Biologie:

• Ausbrütung von z. B. Vogeleiern mit Wärme, bis Jungtiere schlüpfen
• Anzüchtung beispielsweise von Zellkulturen oder Bakterienkulturen in einem Wärmeschrank, siehe Inkubator (Biologie)
• Einwirken lassen von Enzymen, Antikörpern etc. auf ein Substrat

Incubare is Latijn. Grieks is enkoimasthai. De vervoegingen van het werkwoord zijn incubo, incubui, incubitus. De betekenis is liggen op, zitten op, broeden op. In het bijzonder wordt oorspronkelijk bedoeld het slapen in een tempel in de hoop op orakeldromen.

Incubation: Time is Running Out (letteralmente: "incubazione: il tempo sta finendo"), commercializzato anche come Incubation: Battle Isle Phase Four, è un videogioco strategico a turni pubblicato dall'azienda tedesca Blue Byte Software nel 1997. Fa parte della serie Battle Isle, sebbene sia poco correlato agli altri episodi; è stato ripubblicato, assieme al resto della serie, nella raccolta Battle Isle Platinum. Consiste in battaglie tra una squadra di soldati e alieni di vario tipo, con grafica tridimensionale animata (con supporto per 3dfx).
