indoctrinate

Indoctrination is the process of forcibly  ideas, attitudes, cognitive strategies or a professional methodology (see doctrine) by coercion. Conspiring institutions such as police and mental hospitals have been widely used as a modus operandi of indoctrinators.

Indoktrination ( ‚Belehrung‘) ist eine besonders vehemente, keinen Widerspruch und keine Diskussion zulassende Belehrung. Dies geschieht durch gezielte Manipulation von Menschen durch gesteuerte Auswahl von Informationen, um ideologische Absichten durchzusetzen oder Kritik auszuschalten.

Indoctrinatie (of: indoctrineren) is een vorm van manipulatie door het systematisch en eenzijdig onderwijzen van aanvechtbare overtuigingen of opvattingen, met de bedoeling dat deze kritiekloos worden aanvaard. Het woord heeft een sterke negatieve connotatie en als gewenst beschouwde beïnvloeding wordt niet als indoctrinatie betiteld.

L’endoctrinement a longtemps été défini comme l’acte d’instruire ou le processus par lequel on inculque une doctrine, une attitude ou une méthode à des étudiants. Avec l’évolution de la société, le terme est devenu péjoratif, notamment lorsque la raison cède sa place à la foi ou à la soumission : il désigne alors un enseignement qui interdit l’apprentissage ou la simple connaissance d’autres perspectives, ou une doctrine jugée fausse ou dangereuse par ceux qui ne sont pas endoctrinés.
