inductor

An inductor, also called a coil or reactor, is a passive two-terminal electrical component which resists changes in  electric current passing through it. It consists of a conductor such as a wire, usually wound into a coil. Energy is stored in a magnetic field in the coil as long as current flows. When the current flowing through an inductor changes, the time-varying magnetic field induces a voltage in the conductor, according to Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction. According to Lenz's law the direction of induced e.m.f is always such that it opposes the change in current that created it. As a result, inductors always oppose a change in current, in the same way that a flywheel opposes a change in rotational velocity. Care should be taken not to confuse this with the resistance provided by a resistor.

Spulen sind in der Elektrotechnik einerseits Wicklungen und Wickelgüter, die geeignet sind, ein Magnetfeld zu erzeugen oder zu detektieren. Sie sind dabei Teil eines elektrischen Bauelementes oder Gerätes, wie beispielsweise eines Transformators, Relais, Elektromotors oder Lautsprechers.

Un inductor, bobina o reactor es un componente pasivo de un circuito eléctrico que, debido al fenómeno de la autoinducción, almacena energía en forma de campo magnético.

Een spoel is een elektrische component bestaande uit geleidende wikkelingen, meestal van koperdraad, op een spoelvorm (meestal van kunststof) waarin zich al dan niet een magnetiseerbare (weekijzeren) kern bevindt, die wel of niet beweegbaar is. Twee magnetisch gekoppelde spoelen vormen een transformator.

Une bobine, solénoïde, auto-inductance ou quelquefois self (par anglicisme), est un composant courant en électrotechnique et électronique. Une bobine est constituée d'un enroulement de fil conducteur éventuellement autour d'un noyau en matériau ferromagnétique qui peut être un assemblage de feuilles de tôle ou un bloc de ferrite (céramique ferromagnétique). Les physiciens et ingénieurs français l'appellent souvent par synecdoque « inductance », ce terme désignant la propriété caractéristique de la bobine, qui est son opposition à la variation du courant dans ses spires.
