INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL) is a currently operational space telescope for observing gamma rays. It was launched by the European Space Agency into Earth orbit in 2002, and is designed to detect some of the most energetic radiation that comes from space. It was the most sensitive gamma ray observatory launched until eclipsed by Fermi.

Integral (International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory) ist der Name eines Gammastrahlen-Observatoriums der Europäischen Weltraumorganisation (ESA). Der Satellit besteht aus zwei Hauptteilen: dem Servicemodul und dem Nutzlastmodul, in dem die vier wissenschaftlichen Instrumente untergebracht sind. Astrium liefert dabei das Antikoinzidenzsystem ACS, welches das Spektrometer vor Interferenzen durch energiereiche Protonen schützt.

Die Integralrechnung ist neben der Differentialrechnung der wichtigste Zweig der mathematischen Disziplin der Analysis. Sie ist aus dem Problem der Flächen- und Volumenberechnung entstanden. Das Integral ist ein Oberbegriff für das unbestimmte und das bestimmte Integral. Die Berechnung von Integralen heißt Integration.

Se destaca por ser el primer observatorio que puede captar simultáneamente un objeto en rayos gamma, rayos x y visible, lo que ayuda a detectar las fuentes de rayos gamma. La misión INTEGRAL ha sido desarrollada por la ESA en colaboración con la NASA y la Agencia Espacial Federal Rusa.

La integración es un concepto fundamental del cálculo y del análisis matemático. Básicamente, una integral es una generalización de la suma de infinitos sumandos, infinitamente pequeños.

De integraalrekening is een onderdeel van de wiskunde, in het bijzonder van de analyse. Men gebruikt hierin integralen voor het berekenen van totalen, zoals de totale oppervlakte onder een grafiek, de totale verandering van een gegeven grootheid als voor elk moment de verandering per tijdseenheid gegeven is of het berekenen van de massa van een voorwerp als de dichtheid op elk punt gegeven is.

INTErnational Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (INTEGRAL) est un observatoire spatial d'astrophysique européen qui étudie les rayons gamma de moyenne énergie (de 20 keV à 100 MeV) émis par des sources telles que les trous noirs, étoiles à neutrons, supernovae, le milieu interstellaire, etc . Ce satellite de quatre tonnes utilise la combinaison de deux instruments pour ses observations : IBIS qui se caractérise par sa résolution angulaire et est utilisé pour localiser avec précision la source du rayonnement gamma et SPI qui dispose par contre d'une meilleure résolution spectrale. La mission d'INTEGRAL, qui a été placé en orbite en 2002, a été prolongée par l'Agence spatiale européenne, pilote du projet, jusqu'à fin 2016.

L'intégration est un concept fondamental en mathématiques, issu du calcul des aires et de l'analyse, et utilisé dans de nombreuses branches des mathématiques. L'intégration permet, entre autres, de calculer l'aire de l'espace délimité par la représentation graphique d'une fonction.
