isomorphism

In mathematics, an isomorphism (from the Ancient Greek: isos "equal", and morphe "form" or "shape") is a homomorphism (or more generally a morphism) that admits an inverse. Two mathematical objects are isomorphic if an isomorphism exists between them. An automorphism is an isomorphism whose source and target coincide. The interest of isomorphisms lies in the fact that two isomorphic objects cannot be distinguished by using only the properties used to define morphisms; thus isomorphic objects may be considered the same as long as one considers only these properties and their consequences.

In der Mathematik ist ein Isomorphismus (von altgr.  (ísos) - „gleich“ und μορφή (morphḗ) - „Form“, „Gestalt“) eine Abbildung zwischen zwei mathematischen Strukturen, durch die Teile einer Struktur auf „bedeutungsgleiche“ Teile einer anderen Struktur umkehrbar eindeutig (bijektiv) abgebildet werden.

In de abstracte algebra, een deelgebied van de wiskunde, is een isomorfisme (Grieks: ἴσος isos "gelijk", en μορφή morphe "vorm") een bijectieve afbeelding  zodat zowel als zijn inverse  homomorf zijn, dat wil zeggen, structuurbewarende afbeeldingen.

En mathématiques, un isomorphisme entre deux ensembles structurés est une application bijective qui préserve la structure et dont la réciproque préserve aussi la structure. Plus généralement en théorie des catégories, un isomorphisme entre deux objets est un morphisme admettant un « morphisme inverse » .
