JUSTICE is a human rights and law reform organisation based in the United Kingdom. It is the British section of the International Commission of Jurists, the international human rights organisation of lawyers devoted to the legal protection of human rights worldwide. Consequently, members of JUSTICE are predominantly barristers and solicitors, judges, legal academics, and law students.

Justice, is a concept whose content several times has been subject to a philosophical as well as legal treatment. There is no universal definition of the term. In its most basic form, "justice" is the administration of punishment and reward. Further to this, one can say that justice excludes randomness. The concept of justice is based on numerous fields, and many differing viewpoints and perspectives including the concepts of moral correctness based on law, equity, ethics, rationality, religion, and fairness. Often, the general discussion of justice is divided into the realm of societal justice as found in philosophy, theology and religion, and procedural justice as found in the study and application of the law.

Der Begriff der Gerechtigkeit (griechisch: dikaiosýne, lateinisch: iustitia, englisch und französisch: justice) bezeichnet einen idealen Zustand des sozialen Miteinanders, in dem es einen angemessenen, unparteilichen und einforderbaren Ausgleich der Interessen und der Verteilung von Gütern und Chancen zwischen den beteiligten Personen oder Gruppen gibt.

Rechtvaardigheid is een begrip uit de ethiek, het recht, de politieke filosofie en duurzaamheid. Bij de Grieken en in het Katholicisme is rechtvaardigheid vooral een ethische deugd. Bij de Romeinen werd het ook de grondslag van het recht. In latere politieke theorieën werd rechtvaardigheid niet meer als persoonlijke levenshouding, maar als abstract grondbeginsel voor het politieke stelsel gezien. In de 20e eeuw is rechtvaardigheid, als onderdeel van duurzame ontwikkeling, een belangrijk onderwerp in de strijd om het voortbestaan van de biosfeer en de menselijke beschaving.

La justice est un principe philosophique, juridique et moral fondamental en vertu duquel les actions humaines doivent être sanctionnées ou récompensées en fonction de leur mérite au regard du droit, de la morale, de la vertu ou autres sources normatives de comportements. Quoique la justice soit un principe à portée universelle, le juste apparaît pouvoir varier en fonction de facteurs culturels. La justice est un idéal souvent jugé fondamental pour la vie sociale et la civilisation. En tant qu’institution, sans lien nécessaire avec la notion, elle est jugée fondamentale pour faire respecter les lois de l’autorité en place, légitime ou pas. La justice est censée punir quiconque ne respectant pas une loi au sein de sa société avec une sanction ayant pour but de lui apprendre la loi et parfois de contribuer à la réparation des torts faits à autrui, au patrimoine privé ou commun ou à l'environnement.
