Keynote
A keynote in public speaking is a talk that establishes a main underlying theme. In corporate or commercial settings, greater importance is attached to the delivery of a keynote speech or keynote address. The keynote establishes the framework for the following programme of events or convention agenda; frequently the role of keynote speaker will include that of convention moderator. It will also flag up a larger idea – a literary story, an individual musical piece or event.

Keynote
Eine Keynote (engl. für „Grundgedanke“, „Grundsatz“; auch „“, „“) bezeichnet einen herausragend präsentierten Vortrag eines meist prominenten Redners oder professionellen Grundsatzreferenten („keynote speaker“). Der Begriff Keynote wird vom Einstimmton von A cappella Chören abgeleitet: Der Chor singt vor jedem Auftritt gemeinsam einen Ton, damit sich die einzelnen Sänger auf das Stück und aufeinander einstimmen können. Sinngemäß stimmt also der Keynote Speaker sein Publikum auf die Kernbotschaft ein.

Keynote is een presentatieprogramma van Apple voor het besturingssysteem Mac OS X. Het programma werd aangekondigd in januari 2003 en maakt deel uit van het pakket iWork, dat ook het tekstbewerkingsprogramma Pages en het spreadsheetprogramma Numbers bevat.
