Das Labor (ursprünglich Laboratorium, Mehrzahl meist Labore oder auch Labors, besser Laboratorien, vom lateinischen laborare = „arbeiten“, „leiden“, „sich abmühen“) bezeichnet einen Arbeitsplatz vor allem im Bereich der Naturwissenschaften. Im Labor werden die verschiedenen Experimente, Prozesskontrollen, Qualitätskontrollen, Prüfungen und Messungen (insbesondere auch Kalibrierungen) durchgeführt und/oder es werden chemische Materialien bearbeitet sowie chemische Produkte hergestellt (Beispiel Chemielabor).
