LEd (formerly LaTeX Editor) is a TeX/LaTeX editing software working under Microsoft Windows. It is a freeware product.

Ice (, Lyod) is a 2002 novel by the Russian writer Vladimir Sorokin. The story is set in a brutal Russia of the near future, where the Tunguska meteor has provided a mysterious cult with a material which can make people's hearts speak. The book is the first written part of Sorokin's Ice Trilogy, although the second part in the narrative; it was followed by Bro in 2004 and 23,000 in 2006.

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It is a p–n junction diode, which emits light when activated. When a suitable voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor.

Eine Leuchtdiode (kurz LED von ‚Licht-emittierende Diode‘, auch Lumineszenz-Diode) ist ein lichtemittierendes Halbleiter-Bauelement, dessen elektrische Eigenschaften einer Diode entsprechen. Fließt durch die Diode elektrischer Strom in Durchlassrichtung, so strahlt sie Licht, Infrarotstrahlung oder auch Ultraviolettstrahlung mit einer vom Halbleitermaterial und der Dotierung abhängigen Wellenlänge ab. Die rund ersten drei Jahrzehnte seit ihrer Erfindung 1962 diente die LED zunächst als Leuchtanzeige und zur Signalübertragung, durch technologische Verbesserungen wurde die Lichtausbeute immer größer, und es folgten Ende der 1990er Jahre Anwendungen im Bereich der LED-Leuchtmittel im Alltagsgebrauch.

Een led is een elektronische component, een halfgeleidercomponent die licht uitzendt als er een elektrische stroom in de doorlaatrichting doorheen loopt. Deze diode wordt ingebouwd in een kleine doorzichtige behuizing van een paar millimeter groot, die tevens als lens werkt.

Une diode électroluminescente (DEL, en , LED), est un dispositif opto-électronique capable d’émettre de la lumière lorsqu’il est parcouru par un courant électrique. Une diode électroluminescente ne laisse passer le courant électrique que dans un seul sens (le sens passant, comme une diode classique, l'inverse étant le sens bloquant) et produit un rayonnement monochromatique ou polychromatique non cohérent à partir de la conversion d’énergie électrique lorsqu'un courant la traverse.
