A data logger (also datalogger or data recorder) is an electronic device that records data over time or in relation to location either with a built in instrument or sensor or via external instruments and sensors. Increasingly, but not entirely, they are based on a digital processor (or computer). They generally are small, battery powered, portable, and equipped with a microprocessor, internal memory for data storage, and sensors. Some data loggers interface with a personal computer, and use software to activate the data logger and view and analyze the collected data, while others have a local interface device (keypad, LCD) and can be used as a stand-alone device.

Der Marr-Hildreth-Operator oder Laplacian of Gaussian (LoG) ist eine spezielle Form eines diskreten Laplace-Filters und kommt zum Beispiel in der Bildverarbeitung bei der Detektion von Kanten zum Einsatz. Der Filterkernel wird durch die Anwendung des Laplace-Operators auf eine Gauß-Funktion erstellt. Da seine Form der eines mexikanischen Sombreros ähnelt, ist er auch als Mexican Hat oder Sombrerofilter bekannt. Der LoG ist ein isotropes Maß der zweiten Ableitung an ein Bild. Deswegen detektiert er Orte großer Veränderung. In einem Bild sind das gerade Kanten von Objekten, an denen sich die Intensität schnell ändert. Es handelt sich also um einen Filter, der zur Kantendetektion genutzt werden kann.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (dt. Die Liga der außergewöhnlichen Gentlemen) ist eine Comicreihe von Alan Moore und Kevin O'Neill, die seit 1999 erscheint. Sie beginnt im Jahre 1898 und handelt von literarischen Figuren, die sich zum Kampf gegen Feinde des britischen Empires zur titelgebenden Gruppierung zusammengeschlossen haben. Ein besonderes Merkmal dieser Comics ist die umfassende Verwendung von Figuren und Motiven der bis zum jeweiligen Handlungszeitraum erschienenen (phantastischen) Literatur. Weiter enthalten die Comics Anzeigen und Vorworte, die ebenfalls dieser Zeit angepasst sind. Bisher sind sechs Bände erschienen.

En informatique, le logarithme itéré d'un nombre n, noté (lu "log star" ou "log étoile"), est le nombre de fois que le logarithme doit lui être appliqué avant que le résultat soit inférieur ou égal à 1. Cette fonction est utilisée pour décrire la complexité de certains algorithmes, notamment en algorithmique distribuée.
