montane

Montane ecology is the branch of ecology that studies life systems on mountains or other high elevation regions on the Earth. The ecosystems on mountains are strongly affected by climate, which gets colder as elevation increases. Because of this, mountain ecosystems form life zones, which are stratified according to elevation. Dense forests are common at moderate elevations. However, as the elevation increases, the climate becomes harsher, and the plant community transitions to grasslands or tundra.

Die Montane ist ein Fluss in Frankreich, der im Département Corrèze in der Region Limousin verläuft. Der Fluss wird dabei während seines Verlaufes unterschiedlich benannt: heißt er am Oberlauf noch Ruisseau de la Gane salée so wird er später zur Montane und in seinem Mündungsabschnitt schließlich zur Gimelle.

Montanaro (piemontesisch Montanè) ist eine Gemeinde mit Einwohnern (Stand ) in der italienischen Metropolitanstadt Turin (TO), Region Piemont.

La Montane ou la Gimelle est une rivière française du département de la Corrèze, affluent rive droite de la Saint-Bonnette et sous-affluent de la Vézère.

Montané est un patronyme porté notamment par :

• Jacques Bernard Marie Montané (1751- après 1805), avocat, lieutenant civil et criminel du présidial de Toulouse ;
• Marc Montané (1829-1915), homme politique français ;
• Pierre Montané (1919-1991), boxeur français ;
• Yvon Montané (né en 1942), homme politique français.

Montane (lub Gimelle) jest francuską rzeką w Masywie Centralnym. Uchodzi ona do rzeki Saint-Bonnette, jednak według innych źródeł to Saint-Bonnette uchodzi do Montane, która to z kolei uchodzi 500-600 m dalej do Corrèze.
