Mystery, The Mystery, mysteries, The Mysteries, or mysterious may refer to: Something that cannot be explained or comprehended. Any action, affair, or event so obscure or concealed as to arouse suspense, curiosity, or fear is a mystery.

Mystery! (also written MYSTERY!) is a television anthology series produced by WGBH Boston for PBS in the United States. The series was created as a police/crime drama spin-off to the already established PBS show Masterpiece Theater. From 1980-2006, Mystery! aired mostly British crime series purchased from or co-produced with the BBC or ITV and adapted from British mystery fiction. In 2002, due to pressure to include more American material, a series based on the novels of US mystery writer Tony Hillerman was produced, but the vast majority of Mystery! programming has always been and continues to be British literary adaptations co-produced with UK-based production companies.

Mystery (von engl. mystery für „Geheimnis“, „Rätsel“) ist im Deutschen die ursprünglich englische Bezeichnung für ein Genre in der Trivialliteratur, das sich am besten als eine Mischung aus Horror- und Fantasy-Elementen fassen lässt; seltener kommen auch Bezüge zur Science Fiction vor (z. B. Dark City von Alex Proyas, 1998). Als Auslöser für die gegenwärtige Mysterywelle werden oft die Fernsehserie Akte X – Die unheimlichen Fälle des FBI (1993–2002), die Fernsehserie Lost (2004–2010) und der Film The Sixth Sense (1999) von M. Night Shyamalan genannt.

Mystery (nombre artístico, su nombre real es Erik James Horvat-Marković, nacido el 24 de septiembre de 1971) es un escritor, artista del ligue y animador canadiense. Es un innovador en la comunidad de la seducción y uno de los personajes principales del libro de ficción The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists, best-seller traducido al español como "El método" escrito por el que entonces era su estudiante, Neil Strauss. Apareció en el reality show de 2007 de VH1 The Pick-up Artist, que ya ha terminado su segunda temporada. Mystery se autoproclama como "el pickup artist más grande del mundo" y fue presentado como "el pick-up artist con más éxito del mundo" durante el estreno de su programa en VH1.

Mystery of mysteryverhaal is een parapluterm voor een soort fictie met een aantal subgenres zoals het detectiveverhaal, het politieverhaal, het spionageverhaal en het romantische suspenseverhaal dat is afgeleid uit de gothic novel. Deze types van fictie hebben vaak te maken met criminaliteit -veelal moorden- en de spanning ontstaat in de loop van het zoeken naar een oplossing van die misdaden.
