Net profit, also referred to as the bottom line, net income, or net earnings is a measure of the profitability of a venture after accounting for all costs. In a survey of nearly 200 senior marketing managers, 91% responded that they found the "net profit" metric very useful. In accounting, net profit is equal to the gross profit minus overheads minus interest payable for a given time period (usually: accounting period).

Nettowinst is een veelgebruikte boekhoudterm. De nettowinst is de brutowinst min de bedrijfskosten. Oftewel de nettowinst is het geld dat overblijft nadat alle kosten van een onderneming zijn betaald. Dit kan erg complex worden bij grote bedrijven, omdat de boekhouder precies moet aangeven waar al het geld vandaan komt. Als de nettowinst positief is, dan verdient het bedrijf geld. Als de nettowinst negatief is, wordt er ook gesproken van een nettoverlies.
