New classical macroeconomics, sometimes simply called
new classical economics, is a school of thought in
macroeconomics that builds its analysis entirely on a
neoclassical framework. Specifically, it emphasizes the importance of rigorous foundations based on
microeconomics, especially
rational expectations.
