Noble metal
In chemistry, the noble metals are metals that are resistant to corrosion and oxidation in moist air (unlike most base metals). The short list of chemically noble metals (those elements upon which almost all chemists agree) comprises rutheniumrhodiumpalladiumsilverosmiumiridiumplatinum, and gold.
