Nucleosynthesis is the process that creates new atomic nuclei from pre-existing nucleons, primarily protons and neutrons. The first nuclei were formed about three minutes after the Big Bang, through the process called Big Bang nucleosynthesis. It was then that hydrogen and helium formed to become the content of the first stars, and this primeval process is responsible for the present hydrogen/helium ratio of the cosmos.

Die Nukleosynthese (von : „Kern“, „Atomkern“ und von griech. synthesis: „Aufbau“, „Zusammenfügung“ – auch als Nukleogenese oder Elemententstehung bezeichnet) ist die Entstehung von Atomkernen. Man unterscheidet zwischen der primordialen Nukleosynthese kurz nach dem Urknall und der stellaren Nukleosynthese durch Kernfusion.

Nucleosynthesis is het vierde studioalbum van Volt. De titel van het album verwijst naar nucleosynthese, hetgeen door Shipway en Smith vertaald werd naar muziek maken, de verbinding tussen de artiest en zijn toehoorders. Op de hoes van het album is een deel van de isotopenreeks te zien, die door de nucleosynthese ontstaat of die wij laten ontstaan (kunstmatige gefabriceerde elementen). De muziek is elektronische muziek uit de Berlijnse School, dus sequencers zijn bijna het gehele album te horen. Een woord van dank aan Ron Boots en Kees Aerts almede aan het publiek van de Hampshire Jam Festival versie 5 (HJ5). In Implosions zit wellicht een verwijzing naar Pink Floyds Echoes met een steeds terugkerend peilsignaal.

Nucleosynthese (nucleus is Latijn voor "kern", sunthesis is Grieks voor "samenstelling") is in de natuurkunde het opbouwen van kernen van zwaardere elementen uit lichtere. In het binnenste van een ster vinden onder invloed van de enorme druk en zeer hoge temperatuur kernreacties plaats waarbij uit waterstof helium wordt gevormd, en vervolgens uit helium koolstof, en daarna uit koolstof nog weer zwaardere elementen. Op deze manier ontstaan binnenin een ster de meest uiteenlopende elementen.

Nukleosynteza – proces, w którym powstają nowe jądra atomowe w wyniku łączenia się nukleonów, czyli protonów i neutronów, lub istniejących już jąder atomowych i nukleonów. Obecny skład izotopowy Wszechświata jest głównie skutkiem naturalnej nukleosyntezy.
