Charles Henry Dessalines d'Orbigny was a French botanist and geologist specializing in the Tertiary of France. He was the younger brother of French naturalist and South American explorer, Alcide d'Orbigny. At the National Museum of Natural History in Paris, d'Orbigny identified many of the flowering plant species returned to France from his brother's natural history collecting journeys through South America.

Der Orb (okzitanisch: Òrb) ist ein Fluss im Süden Frankreichs, der an der Grenze zwischen den Regionen Midi-Pyrénées und Languedoc-Roussillon entspringt, dann aber größtenteils im Languedoc-Roussillon verläuft.

Object Request Broker (también por sus siglas ORB) es, en Computación distribuida, el nombre que recibe una capa de software (también llamada middleware) que permite a los objetos realizar llamadas a métodos situados en máquinas remotas, a través de una red. Maneja la transferencia de estructuras de datos, de manera que sean compatibles entre los dos objetos. Para ello utiliza un estándar para convertir las estructuras de datos en un flujo de bytes, conservando el orden de los bytes entre distintas arquitecturas. Este proceso se denomina marshalling (y también su opuesto, unmarshalling).
