parasympathetic

The parasympathetic nervous system (usually abbreviated PSNS, not PNS, to avoid confusion with the peripheral nervous system [PNS]) is one of the two divisions of the autonomic nervous system, the other being the sympathetic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system is responsible for regulating the body's unconscious actions. The parasympathetic system is responsible for stimulation of "rest-and-digest" or "feed and breed" activities that occur when the body is at rest, especially after eating, including sexual arousal, salivation, lacrimation (tears), urination, digestion and defecation. Its action is described as being complementary to that of the sympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for stimulating activities associated with the fight-or-flight response.

Der Parasympathikus ist eine der drei Komponenten des vegetativen Nervensystems. Er ist beteiligt an der unwillkürlichen Steuerung der meisten inneren Organe und des Blutkreislaufs. Er wird auch als „Ruhenerv“ bezeichnet, da er dem Stoffwechsel, der Erholung und dem Aufbau körpereigener Reserven dient (trophotrope Wirkung).

Le système parasympathique ou système vagal est une des trois divisions du système nerveux autonome ou viscéral, avec le système nerveux orthosympathique et le système nerveux entérique. Les fibres nerveuses du système parasympathique prennent leur origine dans les parties crâniennes (nerfs III, VII, IX et X) et sacrées de la moelle épinière. Il contrôle les activités involontaires des organes, glandes, vaisseaux sanguins conjointement à l’une des autres parties du système nerveux autonome : le système nerveux sympathique (orthosympathique).

Układ przywspółczulny, parasympatyczny, cholinergiczny (łac. systema parasympathicum) - podukład autonomicznego układu nerwowego odpowiedzialny za odpoczynek organizmu i poprawę trawienia. W uproszczeniu można powiedzieć, że działa on antagonistycznie (odwrotnie) do układu współczulnego. Włókna nerwowe układu przywspółczulnego wychodzą z pnia mózgu. Większość z nich przebiega wspólnie z nerwem błędnym, dochodząc do płuc, serca, żołądka, jelit, wątroby itp. W układzie tym, podobnie jak w układzie współczulnym, występują zwoje, leżące w pobliżu unerwianych narządów lub w samych narządach oraz sploty (np. splot sercowy, płucny), natomiast w przeciwieństwie do niego układ przywspółczulny nie reaguje jako całość, lecz aktywizuje tylko te funkcje, które są niezbędne w danym czasie.
