Pedagogy (etymology and pronunciation) is the discipline that deals with the theory and practice of education; it thus concerns the study and practice of how best to teach. Its aims range from the general (full development of the human being via liberal education) to the narrower specifics of vocational education (the imparting and acquisition of specific skills).

Pedagog kurator oświaty do spraw kształcenia i wychowania społecznego (edukacji), dba o prawidłowy holistyczny rozwój człowieka jako istoty społecznej w oparciu o Powszechna deklaracja praw człowieka, normy społeczne i kulturowe oraz prawa powszchnego.

Pedagog, çocuk psikolojisi, psikososyal, bilişsel ve duygusal gelişimini takip eden, gerektiğinde ebeveynlere danışmanlık yapan, çocuk psikoloğu olarak da bilinen bir meslektir. Pedagoglar, toplum tarafından kabul gören normlar doğrultusunda çocuklardaki bedensel, zihinsel, duygusal, sosyal gelişimlerini inceler, buralarda meydana gelen sapmaların düzeltilmesinde rol alırlar.
