pool

+POOL (or +Pool) is an initiative to bring a floating swimming pool to the East River, on the Manhattan and/or Brooklyn banks, in New York City; a permanent location has yet to been determined. The pool would be filled with water filtered from the river it floats in. The two companies behind it, Family New York and PlayLab, have been using the crowdfunding website Kickstarter to raise money for the project.

El billar es un deporte de precisión que se practica impulsando con un taco un número variable de bolas (antiguamente de marfil), en una mesa con tablero de pizarra forrada de paño, rodeada de de material elástico y con o sin ellas. Tuvo la carta olímpica para los Juegos Olímpicos de 2004, aunque no llegó a ser incluido en ellos. Existen muy diferentes variantes:

• El billar francés o de carambolas.

• El billar americano o (llamado también de troneras o buchacas).
