Provokation (v. lat. provocare ‚hervorrufen‘, ‚herausfordern‘) bezeichnet das gezielte Hervorrufen eines Verhaltens oder einer Reaktion bei anderen Personen. Hierbei agiert der Provokateur bewusst manipulativ oder unbewusst in einer Weise, dass die provozierte Person oder Personengruppe ein tendenziell erwünschtes Verhalten zeigt.

Provoked: A True Story ist ein englischer Film mit teilweise indischen Darstellern wie Aishwarya Rai, Naveen Andrews, Nandita Das und Miranda Richardson in den Hauptrollen. Der Film basiert auf einer wahren Geschichte von Kiranjit Ahluwalia, die ihr Leben in der Biografie "Circle of Light" schriftlich festhielt.

Provoked (inny tytuł "Provoked: A True Story") to brytyjsko-indyjski dramat społeczny i sądowy wyreżyserowany w  2007 roku przez Jag Mundhra w oparciu o autobiografię Kiranjit Ahluwalia, która sprowokowana 10 latami wypełnionymi biciem i upokorzeniami, zabiła swego męża. W rolach głównych Aishwarya Rai, Naveen Andrews, Miranda Richardson i Nandita Das. Muzykę do filmu stworzył A. R. Rahman.
