A number of cyberpunk derivatives have become recognized as distinct subgenres in speculative fiction. These derivatives, though they do not share cyberpunk's computers-focused setting, may display other qualities drawn from or analogous to cyberpunk: a world built on one particular technology that is extrapolated to a highly sophisticated level (this may even be a fantastical or anachronistic technology, akin to retro-futurism), a gritty transreal urban style, or a particular approach to social themes.

Punk ist eine Jugendkultur, die Mitte der 1970er Jahre in New York und London entstand. Charakteristisch für den Punk sind provozierendes Aussehen, eine rebellische Haltung und nonkonformistisches Verhalten. Der einzelne Angehörige dieser Subkultur nennt sich ebenfalls Punk (Plural: Punks) oder auch Punk-Rocker; deutsche Bezeichnungen sind auch Punker und für weibliche Punks Punkerin (Plural: Punkerinnen) oder (selten) Punkette (Plural: Punketten).

SLC Punk! ist eine US-amerikanische Subkultur-Studie über den Alltag zweier Punks aus Salt Lake City mit komödiantischen und dramatischen Elementen von Regisseur James Merendino mit Matthew Lillard in der Hauptrolle. Der Film erschien am 24. September 1998 in Deutschland (vor der amerikanischen Veröffentlichung am 22. Januar 1999). Der deutsche Schauspieler Til Schweiger ist in einer Nebenrolle zu sehen.

El punk, también llamado punk rock, es un género musical dentro del rock que emergió a mediados de los años 1970. Este género se caracteriza en la industria musical por su actitud independiente y amateur. En sus inicios, el punk era una música muy simple y cruda, a veces descuidada: un tipo de rock sencillo, con melodías simples de duraciones cortas, sonidos de guitarras amplificadas poco controlados o ruidosos, pocos arreglos e instrumentos, y, por lo general, de compases y tempos rápidos.

Punk est un terme anglais signifiant « vaurien » ou « voyou », et qui peut aussi être employé en référence :
