push button

A push-button (also spelled pushbutton) or simply button is a simple switch mechanism for controlling some aspect of a machine or a process. Buttons are typically made out of hard material, usually plastic or metal. The surface is usually flat or shaped to accommodate the human finger or hand, so as to be easily depressed or pushed. Buttons are most often biased switches, though even many un-biased buttons (due to their physical nature) require a spring to return to their un-pushed state. Different people use different terms for the "pushing" of the button, such as press, depress, mash, hit, and punch.

Eine Taste oder ein Taster (ital. Tasto, lat. Clavis) ist ein Bedienelement, welches durch Drücken betätigt wird und danach in die Ausgangslage zurückkehrt. Hierfür wird meist eine mechanische Feder eingesetzt. Runde Tasten werden oft auch als Knopf bezeichnet, anders geformte dagegen nennt man seltener so und meist nur dann, wenn sie nicht wesentlich größer als die betätigende Fingerkuppe sind.

Klawisz – element klawiatury, rodzaj przycisku, który spełnia funkcję obsługi jakiegoś urządzenia. Zrobiony jest zwykle z tworzywa sztucznego, rzadziej z metalu. Naciśnięcie klawisza zwykle powoduje zamknięcie obwodu elektrycznego lub wywołuje jakieś zdarzenie mechaniczne, jak na przykład w maszynie do pisania lub w muzycznych instrumentach klawiszowych.

Кнопка — простейший физический механизм управления различными устройствами, средство размыкания или замыкания электрических или механических контактов. Обычно изготовляются из твёрдого материала, такого как пластик или металл (герметизированные кнопки могут быть закрыты резиновым колпачком). Обычно имеют форму, удобную для нажатия или отжатия пальцем или рукой.
