Pyramid
A pyramid (from ) is a structure whose outer surfaces are triangular and converge to a single point at the top, making the shape roughly a pyramid in the geometric sense. The base of a pyramid can be trilateral, quadrilateral, or any polygon shape, meaning that a pyramid has at least three outer triangular surfaces (at least four faces including the base). The square pyramid, with square base and four triangular outer surfaces, is a common version.

Pyramide (Bauwerk)
Die Pyramide (gr. pyramís πυραμίς, Pl. pyramídes πυραμίδες; äg. pꜣmr „Grab, Pyramide“) ist eine Bauform, meist mit quadratischer Grundfläche, die aus unterschiedlichen alten Kulturen bekannt ist, wie Ägypten, Lateinamerika, China und den Kanaren (siehe Pyramiden von Güímar). Pyramiden wurden vorwiegend für Gebäude mit religiösem (Totenkult) und/oder zeremoniellem Charakter verwandt.

Piramide (bouwwerk)
Piramiden zijn bouwwerken die in vele oude beschavingen gebouwd werden. De grote overeenkomst tussen de piramiden van de oude beschavingen is dat ze een brede basis hebben en naar boven steeds smaller worden. De reden voor de brede basis is dat oude beschavingen geen lichte maar stevige materialen zoals staal kenden, die hen in staat stelden om hoge bouwwerken te maken die recht naar boven gaan.
